Hotel: Doubletree, Modesto, California
I had a very short stay in the Doubletree Modesto (extremely late night/early morning arrival and departure) but in my short time there I know I would definitely stay there again if I ever revisit Modesto again.
At reception I was greeted by a cheerful guy who sped through my checkin very quickly and explained about the free breakfast in the morning.
My room was lovely, two double beds which was extremely comfy, TV, Closet, desk, minibar, tea and coffee facilities.
The bathroom had a shower, sink and toilet and another sink outside the bathroom too.
My rate included the breakfast which was offered to me as either from the menu or buffet, I opted for the buffet because of my time scale… there were a large option of hot foods, egg, toast, sausage etc. Cereals, Bread, Fruit, cold meats, cheese. Very nice especially when it was free (I booked in advance, my rate was lower than that of a room only).
I noticed during breakfast too that people were asking the wait staff if they could have their own coffees warmed up, which they did without hesitation. A small gesture goes a long way.
The hotel lobby had a small shop in it too, I didn’t have time to go in but thought I would include that in this review as I would have made use of it if I’d had more time,
The hotel was located within walking distance of the Greyhound stop for Modesto, and an ample number of shops.
Overall this was a very pleasant stay, lovely and comfortable and very friendly, I’d definitely recommend this place for any length of stay.
