The Golden Nugget – Las Vegas

Hotel Casino – The Golden Nugget, Las Vegas, NV

So I’ve stayed in Downtown Vegas plenty of times but somehow never found myself staying in the Golden Nugget. On a recent visit I made a point to book a room there.

On arrival, I was immediately helped by parking staff to the self parking lot found a space close to the elevator, grabbed my bags and made my way inside. Now there was one confusing part, my reservation didn’t list which tower I was in and the signs direct you to check in for the different towers in different directions. I picked a random one and just followed those signs, explaining to the lady check-in me in that I had no idea which tower I was in.

Check-in took all of 5 minutes, I had asked for a room near Fremont St but they didn’t have any available, she made a point of looking at various room types for me though which I really appreciated.

I ended up with a room in the Carson tower, which to me seemed brand new. The room was a queen and felt huge, such a comfy bed! The bathroom was lovely, clean and felt nice (you know when you want to get ready to go out the bathroom makes a huge difference 🙂 ).

There were plenty of amenities in the room including a table, chair, bathrobes, TV… the bathroom amenities were very nice too but lets be fair I saw more of the back of my eyelids of the casino and bars than I did the room amenities :p

The only gripe with the room was the $10 fee to use the coffee and the $4 water bottle charge, that’s kind of ridiculous and was a little upsetting however I just grabbed my own ice water from the two Starbucks in the casino downstairs so not really an issue there.

Talking of the casino, if you find yourself in the Golden Nugget head on into the Rush Lounge, awesome staff and a nice vibe … fun & friendly.

All in all and aside from the coffee and water prices, I really enjoyed my stay here… in fact my Dad is coming into town next week and we’re talking a weekend trip to Vegas so after me telling him about the hotel he’s booked us a weekend back in the Golden Nugget 🙂 (hopefully those water and coffee fees will be gone by then).

See you soon!
